Basketball Game Preview: Holy Ground Baptist Academy Stallions vs. Covington Academy Bulldogs

The Holy Ground Baptist Academy Stallions will take on the Covington Academy Bulldogs in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Holy Ground Baptist Academy and Central Christian had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Stallions received a blow on Friday as they fell 66-49 to the Crusaders. Stallions fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Crusaders since Friday.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Covington Academy sidestepped Providence Classical Christian for a 44-41 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Covington Academy's win came from a few key players Holy Ground Baptist Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brenton Smith, who posted 15 points and four steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cayden Williams, who earned 15 points and three steals.

Holy Ground Baptist Academy dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Covington Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
