Basketball Recap: Glen Iris Baptist's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Glen Iris Baptist unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to the Mt. Pleasant Christian Lions 37-33.

Glen Iris Baptist's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leah Griffin, who posted 14 points along with seven boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebekah Everett, who had nine points and four steals.

Glen Iris Baptist's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Mt. Pleasant Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Glen Iris Baptist will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Marshall Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Mt. Pleasant Christian will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Master's Hand Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Mt. Pleasant Christian is facing Master's Hand Christian at the right time seeing as Master's Hand Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
