Basketball Recap: Westview Comes Up Short

Westview was the 60-56 winner over Oceanside when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Westview Wolverines were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 51-50 to the Oceanside Pirates. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oceanside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tan Nguyen, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 18 points. Ethan Fernandez was another key player, going 6 of 10 en route to 14 points and six assists.

Westview now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Oceanside, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Westview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-53 victory against Coronado on the 28th. As for Oceanside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-53 win against Ramona on the 28th.
