Volleyball Recap: Maclay Takes a Loss

Maclay lost against Lincoln back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Marauders fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2.

Maclay actually scored more points across those five sets (113-107), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-21, 21-25, 12-25, 24-22.

Kate Hartmann paced Maclay's offense, picking up 13 kills. Hartmann got some help from Finley Cutcliffe and her 38 assists. Cutcliffe was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Maclay's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lincoln, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Maclay has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Liberty County on the 26th. As for Lincoln, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Florida State University High School on the 27th.
