Baseball Recap: Saint Mary's Hall's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Saint Mary's Hall barely beat St. Joseph Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Barons put the hurt on the Bloodhounds with a sharp 7-1 win on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Barons as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Elijah Olivo and Brody Potter did most of the damage at the plate: Olivo scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Potter scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Potter has become a key player for Saint Mary's Hall: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cullen Barnhart, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Saint Mary's Hall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Joseph Academy only posted a batting average of .208.

Saint Mary's Hall now has a winning record of 9-8. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-9.

As of now, neither Saint Mary's Hall nor the Bloodhounds have any future games scheduled.
