Volleyball Game Preview: Indian River Indians vs. Cape Henlopen Vikings

The Indian River Indians will head out to challenge the Cape Henlopen Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Indian River is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: MOT Charter, who was ranked 19th at the time (Indian River was ranked 11th). The Indians put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday.

Meanwhile, Cape Henlopen made easy work of Tatnall on Friday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Indian River is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Cape Henlopen, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.

Indian River couldn't quite get it done against Cape Henlopen in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
