Basketball Recap: Hardin-Jefferson Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Livingston came into Friday's game looking for another win against Hardin-Jefferson, but Taveyian Thomas wouldn't allow it. The Hardin-Jefferson Hawks came out on top against the Livingston Lions by a score of 86-79 on Friday thanks in part to Thomas, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Ethan Stanley, who posted three points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (two).

Livingston lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being TROY GARNER, who went 11 for 18 en route to 26 points. Cory Dirden was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds.

Hardin-Jefferson pushed their record up to 11-16 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Livingston, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, Hardin-Jefferson and Livingston will both be playing Shepherd the next time they take the court. Livingston will host Shepherd at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Hardin-Jefferson will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
