Volleyball Recap: Westerville South Comes Up Short

Westerville South lost against Dublin Scioto back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Irish. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westerville South started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-21.

Marlee Sharps paced Westerville South's offense, picking up 20 kills. Sharps got some help from Janele MacClements and her 18 assists. Sharps was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Lyla Magnussen went supernova For Dublin Scioto., getting 24 digs and five assists. Another player making a difference was Olivia Konerman, who had ten digs and two aces.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-3. As for Dublin Scioto, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Westerville South has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Big Walnut on the 28th. As for Dublin Scioto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Worthington Kilbourne on the 28th.
