Liberty North has gone a perfect 5-0 against Rockhurst recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hawklets at 7:00 p.m.
Liberty North is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Lee's Summit North, who was ranked fourth at the time (Liberty North was ranked tenth). The Eagles took a 27-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos on Friday. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Zemar Cheatam, who rushed for 119 yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brennan Smith, who rushed for 37 yards and one touchdown.
Even if they lost, Liberty North's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Trey Newman, Brady Robinson, and Brody Anderson, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Lee's Summit North's side was Ty Lange, who made 16 total tackles.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Rockhurst ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They slipped by Saint Thomas Aquinas 36-35.
Rockhurst's win came from a few key players Liberty North will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Garret Miller, who threw for 192 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 37 yards. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. Tristan Johnson was another key player, picking up 105 receiving yards and one score.
Rockhurst's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points over those games. As for Liberty North, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Liberty North has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 190.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Rockhurst struggles in that department as they've been averaging 157.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Liberty North came out on top in a nail-biter against Rockhurst in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 16-13. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawklets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
