Smoky Mountain hadn't done well against Tuscola recently (they were 0-7-2 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Mountaineers. Smoky Mountain's winning goal came courtesy of Angela Gonzalez.

The victory snapped Smoky Mountain's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-7 record. As for Tuscola, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 13-5.

Coming up, Smoky Mountain will head out to square off against East Henderson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tuscola, they will host West Henderson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tuscola's defense better be ready for this one: West Henderson have averaged an impressive 4.2 goals per game this season.
