Softball Game Preview: Pike Red Devils vs. Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots

The Pike Red Devils will challenge the Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Pike has struggled recently with nine losses in a row, while Terre Haute North Vigo will arrive with four straight wins.

Pike lost 21-1 to Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory on Wednesday.

Pike saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lilianna Richardson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Terre Haute North Vigo won against Bloomington North on Thursday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Everything went the Patriots' way against Martinsville as they made off with a 10-4 victory.

Terre Haute North Vigo's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Pike, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Pike might still be hurting after the 22-4 loss they got from Terre Haute North Vigo when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
