Football Game Preview: Pass Christian Pirates vs. Columbia Wildcats + Official Tickets

The Pass Christian Pirates will head out to take on the Columbia Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Pass Christian sitting on nine straight victories and Columbia on 12.

Pass Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Morton 49-22. Considering the Pirates have won nine games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Paris Trivillion had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 258 yards and two TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also rushing for 54 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. What's more, he racked up 159.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Pass Christian's leading receiver Dwight Thomas was Trivillion's top target yet again, picking up 113 receiving yards and one score.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Pass Christian's defense and their four sacks. Cecil Lizana refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Thomas got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Columbia faced off against Newton County on Friday. The Wildcats secured a 27-22 W over the Cougars. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Cougars are ranked 74th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pass Christian's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Columbia, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.

Pass Christian was taken down by Columbia 42-7 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
