Volleyball Recap: Joliet Central Comes Up Short

Joliet Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Oswego East Wolves. If the Steelmen were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Wolves when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-13.

Oswego East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Riley Trefny led the charge by getting four aces and three digs. That's the most aces Trefny has posted over her last five contests. Laila Mossey was another key player, getting nine digs and two assists.

Joliet Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Oswego East, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Joliet Central has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Yorkville on the 1st. As for Oswego East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Lincoln-Way West on the 1st.
