Wekiva's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Colonial Grenadiers with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-20, 25-15.

Mikayla Rivera was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had seven digs and two aces.

Despite the defeat, Colonial saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabriella Michel had eight assists and six digs.

Wekiva now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Colonial, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Wekiva will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Edgewater at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Colonial, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Oak Ridge on the 27th.
