Volleyball Recap: Portola Triumphs

Portola lost to Laguna Beach back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Portola Bulldogs walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Laguna Beach Breakers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 29-27, 26-24, 25-27, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Laguna Beach saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dylan Sweet had ten digs and three assists.

Portola's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Laguna Beach, their loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Portola didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against St. Margaret's on the 7th. As for Laguna Beach, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Sage Hill on the 7th.
