Football Recap: Kingwood Mustangs vs. La Porte Bulldogs
If Kingwood was feeling good fresh off their 38-0 takedown of Clear Creek last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell 34-28 to the La Porte Bulldogs on Friday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Despite the loss, Kingwood still got an impressive performance from Cam Richardson, who rushed for 136 yards on only 13 carries. Kye Wehby was in the mix too, providing the Mustangs with two TDs.
La Porte found their leader in sophomore Sean Simon, who rushed for 217 yards and a pair of scores.
Kingwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for La Porte, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
