            Baseball Recap: Plainfield North Tigers vs. Normal Community Ironmen        
        
		
        
        
            Plainfield North dropped their record down to 22-11 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Normal Community Ironmen by a score of  2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat the Tigers have suffered  since April 21st.
As for Normal Community, the  victory was  the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 31-4. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games.
For Normal Community's part,  Jonah Roper looked comfortable as he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Roper has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in ten consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Normal Community's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Andrew Naour, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Coming up, Plainfield North will take on Lincoln-Way West at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Normal Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
