Volleyball Recap: Cottondale Falls to Sneads in First Game of Season

Cottondale unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Sneads Pirates on Monday, falling 3-0. The Hornets were not able to make up for their loss to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14, 25-15.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sneads to victory, but perhaps none more so than LaRay Gibbs, who had 13 digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Gibbs a new career-high in assists (11). Another player making a difference was Morgan Veilleux, who had five kills, four aces, and one block.

Cottondale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Bethlehem on the 19th. As for Sneads, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Port St. Joe on the 19th.
