Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Robbinsville

Robbinsville came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the A.C. Reynolds Rockets with a sharp 7-1 win. The Black Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Naomi Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dreylee Webster, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Williams, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Robbinsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as A.C. Reynolds only posted a batting average of .208.

Robbinsville pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for A.C. Reynolds, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robbinsville will square off against Hayesville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for A.C. Reynolds, they will be playing at home against Erwin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
