Marquette came tearing into Wednesday's game with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Howell Vikings. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

While Marquette won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Martin Kruchowski and Noah Landewe, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Alex Danyluck and his 27 assists.

Marquette's victory bumped their record up to 26-9. As for Howell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-16 record this season.

Marquette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Howell, they will challenge Howell North at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
