Basketball Game Preview: Hightstown Rams vs. Colonia Patriots

The Hightstown Rams will take on the Colonia Patriots at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Thursday, Hightstown was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to Trenton Central.

Meanwhile, Colonia had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.7 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They strolled past the Chiefs with points to spare, taking the game 73-56. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Chiefs are ranked 47th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Colonia's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Hightstown, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-6.
