Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ryler Wilson and Alyana Mcgarity Lead New Braunfels to Victory

There's no place like home for New Braunfels, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 57-42 victory over the Boerne-Champion Chargers on Friday. The Unicorns have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Chargers, too.

New Braunfels was led to victory by Alyana Mcgarity and Ryler Wilson. Mcgarity posted 17 points and five boards, while Wilson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. The match was Mcgarity's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lexy Lundegreen, who had five points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

New Braunfels smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

New Braunfels' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-11. As for Boerne-Champion, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Braunfels and Canyon will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th. New Braunfels has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Boerne-Champion, they will face off against Floresville at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
