East Central is 8-2 against Vancleave since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. East Central is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

East Central is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Wayne County on Friday. The Hornets took a 27-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the War EaglesLady War Eagles.

Meanwhile, Vancleave came up short against Stone on Friday and fell 30-23.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Vancleave, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kyle Capers, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

East Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Vancleave, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

East Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Vancleave when the teams last played back in November of 2024, sneaking past 28-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
