Football Game Preview: Cleveland Rams vs. Fuquay - Varina Bengals + How To Watch

The Cleveland Rams will challenge the Fuquay - Varina Bengals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cleveland's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

On Friday, Cleveland didn't have too much trouble with South Garner as they won 42-28. Those 42 points were actually the fewest the Rams have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Cleveland's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kaleb Ferrell, who rushed for 57 yards and three TDs, and Wyatt Caldwell, who picked up 118 receiving yards and one score.

Another reason for the win was Cleveland's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 11 sacks. Markus Medley led the group effort, picking up four of those sacks all by himself. Jaylen King has been hot for a while, having also posted six or more total tackles the last 12 times he's played. Cleveland got some further help from Cameron Melvin: he picked up a sack, made seven total tackles (6.0 for loss), and defended one pass.

Meanwhile, Fuquay - Varina played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 52-7 loss at the hands of Southeast Raleigh. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 28th).

Cleveland's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Fuquay - Varina, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Everything went Cleveland's way against Fuquay - Varina in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Cleveland made off with a 44-21 victory. In that contest, the Rams amassed a halftime lead of 30-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
