Volleyball Recap: Valley Vikings vs. Fort Morgan Mustangs
If Valley was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Frontier Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell 3-1 to the Fort Morgan Mustangs on Thursday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
While Valley ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Valley still got an impressive performance from Laurissa Richards, who had 26 digs and seven assists. Richards has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last eight times she's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Morgan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nadalie Ramos, who had 20 digs. Ally Sailsbery was another key player, getting 15 digs and two aces.
Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Fort Morgan, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley will face off against University at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Morgan, after both having extra time off, they and Sterling will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
