Baseball Recap: Randolph County Takes a Loss

Randolph County's last matchup with Wellborn could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Wednesday. The Randolph County Tigers lost 14-6 to the Wellborn Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-8 defeat on Wednesday.

Randolph County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Creed Blankenship, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Blankenship a new career-high. Daniel Jones was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Randolph County's loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Wellborn, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Randolph County will host Wadley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Randolph County has given up an average of 12.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Wellborn, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Wellborn Panthers take on White Plains Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
