Basketball Game Preview: Weiss Wolves vs. Round Rock Westwood Warriors

Weiss hasn't had much luck against Round Rock Westwood recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Weiss Wolves will be taking part in a tournament against the Round Rock Westwood Warriors at 9:00 a.m.

Weiss is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since December 9, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 78-51 defeat at the hands of Ellison. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while the Eagles are ranked 52nd).

Meanwhile, Round Rock Westwood put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Hutto with a sharp 66-41 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Round Rock Westwood pushed their record up to 18-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Weiss, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

Weiss came up short against Round Rock Westwood in their previous meeting back in November of 2020, falling 52-46. Can Weiss avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
