Soccer Recap: Tavares Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Tavares after they claimed the first goal on Thursday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of the South Sumter Raiders by a score of 2-1. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Tavares' loss dropped their record down to 7-4-1. As for South Sumter, they moved to 2-12 with that win, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

Tavares has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Mount Dora on the 10th. As for South Sumter, they will face off against Leesburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Leesburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.
