Softball Recap: Sabine Cardinals vs. Tatum Eagles
Sabine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Tatum Eagles, falling 14-3. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly 11 runs.
Breanna Hill and Emma Bradford stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hill scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Bradford scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Hill also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season.
Sabine's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Tatum, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Sabine and Tatum could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Sabine will take on White Oak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 600 places (1017 vs. 417). Sabine has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Similarly, Tatum (ranked 639th) will meet Arp (ranked 277th) at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
