Basketball Game Preview: True North Classical Academy Titans vs. IMG Academy Black Ascenders

The True North Classical Academy Titans and the IMG Academy Black Ascenders will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. True North Classical Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, True North Classical Academy turned things around against Coral Gables on Friday. They skirted past the Cavaliers 56-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since December 7, 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead True North Classical Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Boosie Swan, who posted 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ryan Rodriguez was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, IMG Academy Black was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by ABF Academy 80-43. While losing is never fun, the Ascenders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while the Cowboys are ranked 260th).

IMG Academy Black's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for True North Classical Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
