Basketball Recap: Eastern Alamance Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

If Cedar Ridge wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Eastern Alamance, they should've done a better job of containing Ja'Vier Tinnin. The Eastern Alamance Eagles snuck past the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves with a 68-64 win on Wednesday thanks in part to Tinnin, who went 10 for 17 en route to 25 points along with eight assists and seven steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Cedar Ridge lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jordan Jacobson, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 21 points and seven assists. Jacobson's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braeden Wilbourn, who posted 12 points and six boards.

Eastern Alamance is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Cedar Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Eastern Alamance didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-68 victory against Williams on the 31st. Cedar Ridge has also already played their next match, a 61-21 defeat against Orange on the 31st.
