Baseball Game Preview: El Paso-Gridley Titans vs. Pontiac Indians

The El Paso-Gridley Titans will take on the Pontiac Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. El Paso-Gridley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

El Paso-Gridley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Oakwood with a sharp 16-6 victory on Saturday.

Landon Raymer tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits.

At the plate, El Paso-Gridley got a massive performance out of Owen Adams, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Adams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joah Knapp, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

El Paso-Gridley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Pontiac might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Ottawa who claimed the real prize. Pontiac fell 8-3 to Ottawa. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pontiac's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for El Paso-Gridley, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Everything went El Paso-Gridley's way against Pontiac in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as El Paso-Gridley made off with a 15-2 victory. Will El Paso-Gridley repeat their success, or does Pontiac has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
