While it was Albemarle who put the first goals on the board on Thursday, it was Orange County who put up more. The Patriots fell just short of the Fighting Hornets by a score of 3-2. Albemarle's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Albemarle's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Orange County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3-1.
