Preview: Institute of Tech Eagles vs. Chittenango Bears

Institute of Tech is 1-8 against the Bears since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Institute of Tech Eagles will be staying on the road to face off against the Chittenango Bears at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Institute of Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Bears are ranked 101st).

Institute of Tech pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Westhill 63-57.

Meanwhile, Chittenango scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Cortland 91-38 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Chittenango has managed all season.

Brendon Barnard and Ryan Moesch were among the main playmakers for Chittenango as the former scored 18 points and the latter scored 30 points. Moesch is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 21 every time he's taken the court this season. Bernardo Bortovski was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Institute of Tech has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Chittenango, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Institute of Tech came up short against the Bears when the teams last played back in January, falling 83-76. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moesch, who scored 42 points along with eight assists and four steals. Now that Institute of Tech knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
