Recap: Springfield Bulldogs vs. Live Oak Eagles

The Springfield Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 54-46 to Live Oak. That's two games in a row now that Springfield has lost by exactly eight points.

Loss or not, Springfield got some senior leadership from Blayre Wheat who scored 17 points and Emersyn Neal who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Neal scored a full 28.3% of Springfield's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Culbertson , who scored 5 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.

Springfield has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Live Oak, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Holden at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st. As for Live Oak, they will be playing at home against Plaquemine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plaquemine has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
