Baseball Recap: Danville Has No Trouble Against Montoursville

Danville barely beat Montoursville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Ironmen were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Warriors on Monday. The Ironmen have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Cole Duffy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Daniel Walker and Matthew Acor did most of the damage at the plate: Walker scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Acor scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three hits gave Walker a new career-high. Eli Welliver was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for Danville and bumps their season record up to 9-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Montoursville, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
