Softball Recap: Sam Wagner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Governor Mifflin over Twin Valley

Governor Mifflin's last matchup with Twin Valley could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Mustangs might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Raiders, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Governor Mifflin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Wagner, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Wagner hit this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Governor Mifflin and nudges their season record down to 1-10. As for Twin Valley, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Governor Mifflin will host Conrad Weiser at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Twin Valley, they will be playing at home against Muhlenberg at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Muhls have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
