McDowell had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Erie Royals on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Gabriella Deluca made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

McDowell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Erie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-17.
