Basketball Preview: Terrell County Greenwave vs. Westover Patriots
Terrell County is 0-10 against the Patriots since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Terrell County Greenwave will get right back to it and host the Westover Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Terrell County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 412 points over their last six matchups.
A well-balanced attack led Terrell County over the Red Devils in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Terrell County blew the Red Devils out of the water with a 71-43 final score. Terrell County pushed the score to 56-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils had little chance of recovering from.
Terrell County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shaheed Huckaby, who scored 19 points. Michael Carter was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, Westover fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Syrupmakers on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Syrupmakers by a score of 77-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (70), Westover still had to take the loss.
Terrell County's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-12. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Westover, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
