League recap: Bishop Amat wins, gets boost in standings

Bishop Amat was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Serra. The Lancers beat Crespi 24-14 earlier in the week.

Notre Dame took down Loyola 28-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Khalfani Muhammad ran for 199 yards and caught one passes for 78 yards in the win.

Notre Dame's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kelly Hilinski has thrown for 1555 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Koa Farmer has 18 catches for 329 yards. Muhammad leads the league in rushing with 1035 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Celts and Alemany. Crespi enters the contest ranked 23rd in the state, while the Warriors ranks ninth.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Jon Mack's team takes on Alemany. The Celts have allowed 158 points this season, while Dean Herrington's team has given up 160. Crespi allowed 24 points last week as it lost to Bishop Amat.

The Knights led Serra in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on the Cubs. Muhammad in the win.
