Basketball Game Preview: Leavitt Hornets vs. Lincoln Academy Eagles

The Leavitt Hornets will challenge the Lincoln Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Leavitt and four for Lincoln Academy.

Leavitt came up short against Erskine Academy on Thursday, falling 62-39.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Medomak Valley on Saturday and fell 48-46. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Panthers are ranked 18th).

Lincoln Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Leavitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Leavitt came up short against Lincoln Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 55-48. Can Leavitt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
