Softball Recap: Marist Spartans vs. Junction City Tigers
After flying high against McKay last Wednesday, Marist came back down to earth. The Spartans came up short against the Junction City Tigers on Tuesday, falling 17-7. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing 24-14 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Blakely Hauck made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Lera Basom was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Marist's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-6. As for Junction City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-6.
While Marist had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
