Preview: Calhoun Academy Cavaliers vs. Curtis Baptist Crusaders
The Calhoun Academy Cavaliers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Curtis Baptist Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Calhoun Academy: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Curtis Baptist has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 52-10, which was the final score in Calhoun Academy's tilt against Cathedral Academy on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Calhoun Academy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Curtis Baptist stacked a 15th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Jefferson Davis Academy at home to the tune of 46-9. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-2.
Curtis Baptist got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Hunt out in front who scored eight points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Kilroy, who scored 13 points.
Calhoun Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Curtis Baptist, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
