After only 27 points in their last contest, Sarcoxie made sure to put some points up on the board against Wheaton on Tuesday. The Bears put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 71-51 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Bears have posted against the Bulldogs since November 20, 2018.

When it comes to explaining why Wheaton lost, don't look at Brody Bateman. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 45.1% of the Bulldogs' points, marking the fourth time in a row Bateman has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Richard Hnin, who earned eight points.

The win got Sarcoxie back to even at 4-4. As for Wheaton, their record now sits at 3-5.

Sarcoxie and Miller will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bears' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
