Basketball Recap: Allen Piles Up the Points Against Roff

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Allen). They blew past the Roff Tigers 85-20 on Friday. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 32 points or more this season.

Allen got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Prentice out in front who went 7 for 9 on her way to 21 points and five steals. Prentice is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Cherish Woodward was another key player, going 7 of 13 on her way to 20 points and five rebounds.

Allen was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

The victory made it two in a row for Allen and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Roff, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Allen will take on Stratford in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roff, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Amber-Pocasset at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
