Baseball Recap: Challis Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Challis dropped their record down to 11-6-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They lost 9-0 to the Firth Cougars. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

As for Firth, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games.

For Firth's part, Michael Adams made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. Adams has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Firth let Grant Vasquez and Beau Ringel run wild. Vasquez went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Ringel got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Vasquez has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrell Vasquez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
