Baseball Recap: Valmeyer Takes a Loss

Valmeyer lost against St. Louis HomeSchool P back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pirates came up short against the Patriots, falling 12-3.

Luke Blackwell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Valmeyer is 4-2 when Blackwell posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise.

Valmeyer's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for St. Louis HomeSchool P, their record is now 12-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valmeyer will square off against New Athens at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates are facing the Yellow Jackets at the right time seeing as the Yellow Jackets are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Louis HomeSchool P, they will challenge Althoff Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: the Crusaders will have lost six straight heading into Tuesday's game.
