Basketball Recap: Taylor Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from TJ Whybrew and Eli Laurence

Taylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 55-48 to the Salado Eagles. The Ducks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 85-84.

Taylor's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Eli Laurence, who went 7 for 16 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds, and TJ Whybrew, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 16 points and five assists.

Taylor's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Salado, their victory bumped their record up to 12-18.

Taylor will challenge Jarrell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Salado, they will square off against Gateway College Preparatory at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Gateway College Preparatory will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Salado surely won't give up without a fight.
