Softball Recap: Nixon Find Success

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nixon). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hanna Golden Eagles on Friday, sneaking past 7-6. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 6-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Kivana Hernandez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Mia Salinas also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

The victory got Nixon back to even at 2-2-1. As for Hanna, they now have a losing record of 2-3-1.

Coming up, Nixon is taking a road trip to challenge Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hanna, they will take on Edinburg North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
