Basketball Recap: Shelby Comes Up Short

Shelby lost against Fremont back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Shelby Tigers fell 54-43 to the Fremont Packers.

Shelby's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Fremont, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Shelby and Fremont should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Shelby will face off against Mason County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday up 183 places (141 vs. 324). Shelby will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Similarly, Fremont (ranked 57th) will meet Whitehall (ranked 262nd) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Shelby's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so Fremont's offense will have their work cut out for them.
